Subject: Request: API Integration of DEX EXTENDED for Tax-Compliant Transaction Data
Dear Koinly Team,
As an active user of both Koinly and DEX EXTENDED, I would like to propose the integration of the DEX EXTENDED API into your platform. Below are the key reasons for this request:
- User Demand:
DEX EXTENDED is increasingly being used by traders who rely on its low fees, specific token pairs, and advanced trading features such as liquidity providing and arbitrage. These users require a seamless tax-tracking solution to comply with German regulatory requirements, including the asymmetric taxation of spot vs. perpetual trades and the documentation of impermanent loss.
- Technical Benefits:
- The DEX EXTENDED API enables automatic import of transactions (swaps, LP deposits, yield harvesting), including all relevant metadata such as gas fees, timestamps, and token addresses.
- Reduces manual effort for users (currently, CSV files must be adjusted for time offsets) and support teams (fewer error corrections).
- Scalable: A one-time integration benefits all users and can serve as a template for additional DEX integrations.
- Competitive Advantage:
Many tax tools only support major DEXs like Uniswap. Integrating DEX EXTENDED positions Koinly as a comprehensive solution for DeFi power users who value completeness and accuracy.
- Regulatory Necessity:
In Germany, complete documentation of all crypto transactions is mandatory. API data is more precise and less error-prone than manual CSV uploads, which is especially critical for complex strategies like liquidity providing (e.g., in Arboreum pools).
Technical Details:
- DEX EXTENDED provides API documentation (insert link if available).
- Required data fields: tx_hash, timestamp (UTC + adjustment for DE), token_in/out, amounts, fees, type (swap/LP/etc.).
- Priority: Support for spot trades and LP transactions (relevant for impermanent loss calculations).
Proposed Implementation:
- Phase 1: Integration of core functions (swap and LP transactions).
- Phase 2: Advanced features such as automatic classification of transaction types or notifications for tax-relevant events.
Best regards
